AP World 4/28 HOMEWORK

Use Chapter 32 to answer the following questions.
1. Give a detalied account of the Cold War including information about all the bold words in that section. (This answer should be about 8 sentences long!)
2. Describe how the green movement started and what it stood for in the 1960s and what it became in the 1970s.
3. When and who started the European Union and why did it start?
4. Give a detalied account of the women's revolution in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. (Again detalied means write A LOT)
5. In the section "Eastern Europe After World War II: A Soviet Empire" list several things the Soviets did to try to ensure the success and possible spread of communism.

This is due Monday.

1. In the Spring of 1940 German's invasion of which two countries made the world realize that the war was real?
2. What was the big invasion of Europe by the allies known as?
3. When the war was over it had lasted almost how many years?

World War II Timeline instructions:
Using your textbook, flow of history app, and idea sketch you are going to create a timeline of events in WWII using idea sketch. You will need to make 14 boxes with the following dates as the title:

1931
1935-1936
1937
1938
Sept. 1st 1939
Sept. 1940
Mid 1941
Dec. 7th 1941
Feb. 1942
1943
1944
April 30th 1945
Two Conferences 1945
Aug 6th and 9th 1945

For each box you will need to give a description of events that took place during that time.

The students will have a Map Quiz on Sub-Saharan Africa on Thursday. The following places could be on the quiz: South Africa, Botswana, Gabon, Sudan, Chad, Congo, Madagascar, Mozzambique, Tanzania, Khartoum, Cape Town, Red Sea, Kenya, Ethiopia, Lake Victoria, Zambezi River, Congo River, Niger River, Kalahari Desert, Namib Desert, Atlantic Ocean, and Indian Ocean.

Geo 4/22/11

Students took their test today. They need to finish their physical and political maps of Sub Saharan Africa for homework. The maps are due Tuesday. They can use the maps in their textbooks or use online maps to finish their maps. Enjoy your Easter Break!

AP World 4/21/11

I lectured on chapter 29 today. I orginally told the students they need to read chapter 30 this weekend and write a 1-2 sentence summary on each section of that chapter. I don't want them to do that anymore. Instead I want them to simply write 7 reactions to the Great Depression. The reactions need to cover the following 7 places and how they reacted to the Great Depression, either directly or indirectly: America, Western Europe, Spain (spanish civil war), Brazil, Argentina, Japan, and Soviet Union. Reactions only need to be 3-4 sentences, but detailed! This is due for a homework grade on Tuesday. Be ready for a reading quiz on all of chapter 30 on Tuesday!

Students took a map quiz on North Africa and SW Asia today. They need to complete their review sheet for homework and study it! We have a test tomorrow (friday)! Review sheet is due for a homework grade Friday.

Students need to use Chapter 29 to write a CCOT essay on the 1920s in Europe. They need to have at least three peices of WHC in essay. Essays are due Thursday.

The Geo students started working on their North Africa and Southwest Asia maps in class today. They need to finish their SW Asia maps for homework, they are due tomorrow for homework. The brochure that Ms. Sabey assigned is due on Wednesday.

AP World 4/15/11

Students need to use chapter 28 to answer the following questions: 1. List the causes of WWI. 2. Why/How was WWI different from any previous war? 3. How did WWI change Europe? 4. How did WWI end? There will be a Comparative Essay on the Egyptian Nationalist Movement and the Indian Nationalist Movement on Tuesday. This essay will count as a quiz grade.
