Biography Paper

1.    Obtain a biography of anyone who was born after 1500CE.  Clear your choice with Coach Chappell by May 2^nd or 3^rd for a HW grade.

2. Paper must be 3-4 pages long. 12 point font Times New Roman. Double spaced. Your cover page and bibliography page don’t not count in total page count. So a three page paper will end up being 5 pages total with a cover page and bibliography.
3. Follow Turabian (Chicago) style formatting for citing your source. Papers are due June 2^nd or 3^rd.
4. 5-10 minute presentation on your paper June 1^st- 10^th utilizing Power Point.
5. The paper itself will count 75% and the presentation including the Power Point will count 25%. For a total of 100% for a TEST grade.
6. I am willing and able to stay after school to help, as you are working on your research papers, just ask!

3/31 and 4/1 3rd and 4th Period APWH

We started taking notes on Chapter 25 today.  Over Spring Break, students should start working on their biography project and prepare for the chapter 21-25 test that we will take two days after Spring Break.

3/29 and 3/30 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students took their 3rd Quarter Exam in class today.  After the exam they were given a review guide for the chapter 21-25 test that we will take after Spring Break.  There is a video link below for that test.  Students were also given an SOL review packet for the SOL in May.

3/25 and 3/28 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Today was all about reviewing for the 3rd Quarter Exam.  Students take the exam next class!

3/23 and 3/24 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students wrote their CCOT essay today.  And we finished taking notes on Chapter 24.  Students need to read the sections of the textbook that contain key words for Chapter 25 before they take the test after Spring Break. I also gave out 3rd 9 Weeks Review guides in class today.  3rd Period takes it Tuesday 3/29 and 4th Period takes it Wednesday 3/30.

3/21 and 3/22 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students finished correcting their DBQs.  We took notes on Chapter 24.  Next class students will need to write a CCOT essay on the Ottoman Empire between the years 1800-1870.  They should plan this out at home, but NOT write it before hand, we will write it in class.  Also students need to read the rest of Chapter 24 for HW.

3/17 and 3/18 3rd and 4th Period APWH

We spent some time working on our DBQ writing in class.  We finished the notes from chapter 23.  Students need to read pages 687-699 in Chapter 24. Possible RQ.

3/15/16 and 3/16/16 3rd and 4th Period APWH

We took notes on the first half of chapter 23 today.  Students need to read the second half of chapter 23 pages 670 to the end of the chapter. Possible RQ.

3/11 and 3/14 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students wrote a DBQ in class today.  For homework students need to read pages 655-670 in their textbooks before next class, as always be ready for a possible RQ. Students also need to turn in questions 1-4 on page 663 for a homework grade next class.

3/9 and 3/10 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students took notes on Chapter 22 today and a reading quiz.  Students need to prepare for a DBQ next class, to prepare just make sure you study the rubric and look at the tips for writing a DBQ found at the beginning of your textbook.

3/7 and 3/8 3rd and 4th APWH

I collected the Chapter 21 charts and we took a RQ on the French Revolution and notes on the French Revolution.  We did not finish the Age of Reason or the Haitian Revolution so students need to watch the video link below for the rest of the notes on Chapter 21.  3rd Period you can start the video at 2:50. 4th Period you should watch the whole video.  Also students need to read pages 629-640 before next class.

3/3 and 3/4 3rd and 4th Period APWH

Students watched a video in class on the first part of Chapter 21 primarily covering the Enlightenment and American Revolution. Students then worked on a chart from Chapter 21 comparing the American Revolution, French Revolution and Haitian Revolution.  The students need to read pages 610-624 before next class and complete their chart from Chapter 21 before next class.  Be ready for a quiz on Chapter 21 next class also.
