SNOW DAY WORK for AP World History

The AP test will still be in May despite all the days we are missing because of snow.  Because of this I am trying to give you everything you need to stay on pace.  Complete the Chapter 19 chart and be ready to turn that in when we get back to school.  The date for the next test is TBD.  But I can tell you it will be on chapters 19 and 20 only.  I am going to post three videos to cover the notes for chapter 20.  So when you get back to school we can go over Chapters 19 and 20 then review and then take a test.  The test will be 2 or 3 class periods after we get back to school.  In addition to taking notes you need to begin working on a CCOT essay.  The topic will be CCOT in China from 1368-1796.  Use Chapter 12 to cover the earlier dates and Chapter 20 to cover later dates.  Create a list of Cont. and Changes to share with the class.  Please standby for the links to the videos for notes from Chapter 20.

2/23 and 2/24 5th and 4th Period AP World History

Students took their chapters 16-18 Test today.  After the test they were given a chart on Chapter 19.  They need to add three columns to this chart: "Role of Women", "Religion" and Economy".  They can put these on the back.  The charts will be collected for a grade next class and there will be a quiz on the charts!

Test Review

Use the link to access the video for the test review.  Thesis statements are:
1. Compare Atlantic Slave trade to Islamic (Saharan) Slave trade.  Political, Economic and Social.
2. Compare British Northern Colonies in North America to British Southern Colonies in North America.  Political, Economic and Social.
3. Political, Economic and Social Cont. and Changes in Europe between 1450-1750.

***You have to do at least ONE Comparative and ONE Cont./Change (there is only one of those).  But it would be advantageous if you came prepared to write all three.

2/12 5th Period AP World

We completed notes on Chapter 18 today.  Students need to be studying their review sheets for their test that is on Tuesday 2/17.  There will not be a after school review session.  Instead I will make a video of review information that the students will need to watch over the weekend.

2/11 6th Period AP World History

6th's Periods AP Comparative essay was postponed until Friday.  We did the notes on all of Chapter 18 today.  Students will have the Chapter 16-18 Test on Wednesday 2/18.  Students were given their test review sheets today.  They need to bring their review sheet and book to class Friday.

2/10 5th Period AP World

Students wrote their comparative essay today in class.  They need to finish reading chapter 17 if they have not yet and make sure all of Chapter 18 is read before the test on 2/17.  They were also given their review sheet.

2/6 and 2/9 5th and 6th Period AP World

The students took notes on Chapter 17 today.  We created a list of Sim and Dif between the North American Colonies (England and France) and the South American Colonies (Spain and Portugal).  This list can be created by reading Chapter 17.  The students need to finish reading chapter 17 if they have not already and be ready to write a Comparative Essay on Tuesday 2/10 (5th Period) and Wednesday 2/11 (4th Period). 

2/2 and 2/3 5th and 4th Period AP World

The students took notes on the end of chapter 16 today and we reviewed our DBQs.  Students were given an opportunity to complete extra credit to improve their DBQ score.  All students need to read pages 489-503 before next class.
