5th and 2nd Period APWH 2/8 and 2/9

I collected the chapter 17 charts in class.  Students need to finish reading Chapter 19 if they have not already.  We will start new notes on Chapter 18 next class.  Students need to read 405-415 before next class and be ready for a RQ.  Our lecture notes are going slightly out of order, so don't worry that we are doing stuff in chapter 19 and then going back to chapter 18.

5th and 2nd Period APWH 2/6 and 2/7 and NOTES VIDEO

Sorry I was out sick Monday and Tuesday.  Students wrote a DBQ in class today that will count as a quiz grade.  Students also received two charts for Chapter 17 that they need to complete before next class for a homework grade.  Students also need to start reading Chapter 19.  And you need to watch the video link below and take notes.  The video says it is from Chapter 17 which is mostly true but it also combines with information found in Chapter 19.  This video is the notes we were supposed to do in class.

2nd Semester Project

Students will get a copy of this in class and we will discuss it in class, but I wanted everyone to have plenty of time to complete this.  It's not due until June.

Research Paper AP World History

1.    Obtain a biography of anyone who was born after 1500CE.  Clear your choice with Coach Chappell by May 2nd or 3rd for a HW grade.
  1. Paper must be 3-4 pages long. 12 point font Times New Roman. Double spaced. Your cover page and bibliography page don’t not count in total page count. So a three page paper will end up being 5 pages total with a cover page and bibliography.
  2. Follow Turabian (Chicago) style formatting for citing your source. Papers are due June 1st or 2nd.
  3. 5-10 minute presentation on your paper June 1st- 9th utilizing Power Point.
  4. The paper itself will count 75% and the presentation including the Power Point will count 25%. For a total of 100% for a TEST grade.
  5. I am willing and able to stay after school to help, as you are working on your research papers, just ask!
  6. 10 points will be deducted each school day your project is late. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!
