We finished notes on Chapter 8. And we went over the Continuities and Changes over time on the Arabian Peninsula between the years 570-1258 CE. Students will write a long essay about that topic next class. Students also need to read the following sections from Chapter 9 before next class:
The Christian Kingdoms: Nubia and Ethiopia
The Empire of Mali and Sundiata, the "Lion Prince"
City Dwellers and Villagers
The whole section "The Swahili Coast of East Africa"
Lastly, just the little section at the start of "Peoples of the Forest and Plains"
